Richard Fortinsky

Dr. Richard H. Fortinsky is a professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he holds the Health Net, Inc. Endowed Chair in Geriatrics and Gerontology and is a core faculty member at the UConn Center on Aging. With over 40 years of experience, he collaborates with community organizations and healthcare providers to enhance healthcare outcomes for older adults and their families. His recent research focuses on in-home, team-based care for older adults with cognitive issues and investigates the impacts of dementia, race, and ethnicity on healthcare utilization among Connecticut’s elderly. Dr. Fortinsky also co-directs the UConn Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center, one of 15 nationwide funded by the National Institute on Aging.
