Lisa Tepper Bates

Lisa Tepper Bates is the President and CEO of United Way of Connecticut, recognized among the Hartford Business Journal’s 2025 “Power 50” for her leadership and innovation in helping residents navigate a changing federal landscape. With over 30 years of experience in diplomacy and nonprofit leadership, she has held key roles at the national, state, and local levels—including as Connecticut’s Senior Coordinator for Housing and Transit-Oriented Development and as CEO of the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness. A former U.S. diplomat, she currently serves on the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority Board and the Stonington Board of Police Commissioners, and holds degrees from Georgetown University and Yale School of Management.
