Directors’ Welcome
Welcoming the Year Ahead and NCAAA CEO Robyn Harper-Gulley
2026 will be a busy and productive year for AgingCT! Working closely with our aging partners, we will continue to advocate for older adults and their caregivers with specific campaigns aimed at expanding services and building workforce capacity. We are also excited to formalize our partnership with the Centers for Independent Living (CILs). Designed and operated by individuals with disabilities, CILs provide independent living services for people with disabilities. This expanded vision will help us reach more people in a more coordinated approach – creating an even more seamless experience for Connecticut residents. We are also thrilled to announce that the date for our Aging and Disability Summit is set for Tuesday, October 6, 2026. This annual conference unites the people and systems that address the challenges of aging and disabilities in Connecticut, so be sure to mark your calendars now!
AgingCT also welcomes Robyn Harper-Gulley, the new chief executive officer at North Central Area Agency on Aging (NCAAA). Robyn has a long, respected history with the agency and has spent her career supporting older adults and caregivers in Connecticut. Robyn started at NCAAA in 1997 as a student helping with Benefits Outreach Screening (BOSS), which is now the CHOICES program. As she expanded her skills, knowledge, and experience, the opportunities also grew, and she assumed roles as assistant grants manager, deputy director, and has served as chief operating officer since 2017. She worked side by side with revered former director Maureen McIntyre for many years, and will now lead the agency, overseeing a staff of 21 team members who she describes as “people who love helping people.” Together, they will continue the long-standing excellent work of the NCAAA, focusing on health equity, filling gaps in services, streamlining data management, making programs more sustainable, and including all people at the table for discussion. Robyn is excited to lead the next chapter of the North Central Area Agency on Aging and eager to join her colleagues at AgingCT to collaborate on statewide efforts. Welcome Robyn!
